NSW Greenslip

CTP Green Slip NSW

Green Slip or Compulsory Third Party insurance protects vehicle owners and drivers who are legally liable for personal injury to any other party in the event of a personal injury claim made against you by other road users.

CTP Green Slip insurance does not cover damage to property or other vehicles (see Third Party Property Damaged Car Insurance for this type of insurance). CTP Green Slip insurance is compulsory and a condition of motor vehicle registration in NSW.

For more information about CTP Green Slips, please visit Common Questions.

Recent Changes to Green Slip cover

The NSW Government has introduced a new benefit for all NSW Green Slip customers. The new scheme is called the Lifetime Care and Support Scheme (LTCS).

LTCS applies to all Green Slips and provides cover to all children up to age 16 seriously injured in motor accidents regardless of who was at fault. More information is contained in the Motor Accidents Authority Brochure or visit the website www.greenslips.nsw.gov.au.

For Green Slips that are renewed from 1 October 2007, cover will also be provided for lifetime medical care and support for everyone catastrophically injured in a motor accident regardless of fault. More information about this can be found in the Motor Accidents Authority Brochure.

Register you car online (NSW)

Skip the long queues - you can now obtain your Green Slip quickly and easily online. Once you've got your Green Slip, you can even register your vehicle online with the Road Traffic Authority (RTA).

Just follow the simple steps below

1 Do you need a roadworthy certificate (pink slip)?

*Your RTA registration renewal notice will indicate if your vehicle requires an inspection for a pink slip.

Yes.
To obtain a pink slip, you need to take your vehicle to an E-safety Check Station. Once your vehicle has been inspected, the Check Station will notify the RTA of your result.

To find out where your nearest Check Station is, follow this link to the RTA web site:

No, I don't need a pink slip.
Go to step 2.

2 Register your vehicle online now

If you already have a Green Slip and would like to register your vehicle with the RTA now, follow this link to their web site:
