When a customer makes a claim for repair of accident damage to their car AAMI works with a network of Quality Repairers who share our commitment to delivering exceptional customer service, cost effective and quality repairs, in a timely manner.
While respecting, as a first priority, our commitment to our existing Quality Repairers, AAMI does from time to time seek to appoint additional repairers to our network.
AQR Selection Criteria
AAMI retains the right to protect its legitimate commercial interests when choosing the repairers it wishes to appoint as AQRs.
The following selection criteria are applied in assessing a repairer’s application to become an AQR:
- Cost, quality and timeliness of repairs
- Need for a repairer in the area
- Location and presentation of shop
- Equipment levels
- Accreditations and affiliations
- Available repair capacity in the shop
- Prior dealings with AAMI
New AQRs will operate under a six-month transitional agreement to allow AAMI to determine whether performance standards can be met. Provided these performance standards are met AAMI undertakes to provide the applicant with an AQR Agreement at the end of that period.
Applying to become an AQR
To register your interest in becoming an AQR please complete this Application Form and submit it to AAMI. We will respond to your application within 28 days, indicating reasons for the decision taken should your application be unsuccessful.
Your application will be retained by AAMI for a period of two years and will be taken into consideration during that time should the need for an additional repairer in your area arise.
Transferring AQR Status
AAMI will consider an application to allow for the continuation of AQR status in the event of a change in the ownership of an existing AQR business. Provided AAMI’s selection criteria are satisfied, and performance standards and probity and prudential concerns are met, AAMI will not unreasonably refuse to offer the new owner an Agreement.
