Income Protection insurance allows you to cover up to 75% of your monthly income, from as little as $1,000 per month to as much as $10,000 per month. So if you’re earning $4,000 per month, the maximum amount of Income Protection cover you could apply for is $3,000 per month. Helping to keep your life on track until you get back to work.

That’s how long your monthly Income Protection benefits will be paid in the event of a claim, with premiums for 1-year benefit periods being cheaper.

If you need to make a claim, it’s reassuring to know that your monthly benefits will commence after a waiting period of just 30 days (your sick leave and other leave entitlements can often provide an income during this time). And while you’re receiving your monthly benefits, we’ll let you take a break from paying your regular premiums so as not to reduce your income.

Unlike many personal insurance policies, with AAMI Income Protection there are no medicals, blood tests or complicated forms to fill out. And if you change your mind within 30 days of your cover commencing, you’ll have the option to cancel your policy at no cost.

Once cover commences, your income is protected 24/7, 365 days a year. We also guarantee to renew your policy every year until your 65^th birthday (unless cover stops earlier), even if your health deteriorates.

It’s important to adjust your Income Protection cover as your needs change over time. Your AAMI Income Protection benefit will automatically increase each year to ensure it keeps in line with the cost of living.
