Assessors and Customer Response Team move into bushfire affected areas

AAMI’s bushfire recovery efforts are in full swing with its team of assessors and Customer Response Team moving into affected areas today to further assist customers.

AAMI spokesperson, Damien Butler, said: “It’s now safe for AAMI assessors to inspect the sites and assess homes that were damaged but not completely lost to the fires.”

“Tragically, for many of our customers, their homes are a total loss. Our expert assessing team will work with those customers to understand the full rebuilding requirements. Once the clean-up is complete, we can then move in quickly to help our customers move forward.

“For homes that were not completely lost, we can determine the required scope of works and begin the process of allocating tradespeople to repair the home.”

For those affected by the bushfires who are still yet to lodge their claim and require face-to-face support, AAMI’s Customer Response Team (CRT), a mobile insurance claims office, which was last week located at the Westfield Shopping Centre at Geelong, will now be set up at the Recovery Centre at Apollo Bay.

“The CRT is now located with the range of support services impacted residents now have available at the Recovery Centre,” Mr Butler said.

“These are fully self-sufficient mobile claims offices where customers can lodge their claims in person, access emergency funds and arrange temporary accommodation if required.”

AAMI customers can lodge claims in person with the CRT at the Apollo Bay Recovery Centre, over the phone 24 hours a day on 13 22 44 or online at www.aami.com.au.
