AAMI urges storm affected south-east Queensland customers to contact them as soon as possible
AAMI is urging all storm and flood affected customers in south-east Queensland to contact them as soon as possible to lodge their claims.
AAMI spokesperson, Reuben Aitchison, said to date it had received several hundred calls from customers reporting damage following yesterday’s torrential rain.
"At this stage, the worst damaged areas are the suburbs north of Brisbane, including Caboolture, Burpengary and Deception Bay, where flooding was its most severe," Mr Aitchison explained.
"We are also seeing significant volumes of calls from Brisbane and the surrounding areas due to the significant rainfall."
"The majority of home damage reported is largely due to water inundation and leaking roofs. Most car-related damage is as a result of flash flooding," he said.
Mr Aitchison said AAMI has staff on hand and ready to help customers get the claims process underway as soon as possible.
"We encourage any customers who have been affected to let us know as soon as possible. Lodging your claim now will mean we can get the claims process underway to ensure the quickest possible path to recovery."
"As always, we urge residents to exercise caution as while the immediate danger from the storm has subsided, conditions are still risky while flooding remains. Do not attempt to drive through floodwaters, beware of any local flooding from nearby rivers and creeks and keep on top of road closures through your local council and local authorities," he advised.
