You’ll find many answers to the most common, general questions about managing your policy here. If you can’t find what you’re looking for or have a specific question regarding your own policy, please contact us.
How do I change my address?
You can change the address listed on your policy, as well as numerous other contact and personal details, through your online AAMI account. After you log in, click on the policy you want to update. A pop up will appear with a summary of your policy; click on ‘View my policy’ on the bottom left. From there, under the ‘My personal details’ heading, click ‘Contact details’.
How do I get a copy of my insurance certificate?
Many of AAMI’s policies allow you to get a copy of your insurance certificate through your online account. These are:
- Comprehensive Car Insurance
- Third Party Insurance
- Home Building & Contents Insurance
- Home Building Insurance
- Home Contents Insurance
- Contents (Fire & Theft) Insurance
- Building for Landlords Insurance
- Contents for Landlords Insurance
Simply log in to your online AAMI account, click on the policy you want to get your Certificate of Insurance for from ‘Your Insured Policies’, and then select ‘Get documents’. You’ll see an option to have your Certificate of Insurance emailed to you – it will automatically default to the email address we have on file for you, but you can change it to an alternative one.
How do I cancel my policy?
We’re sorry you’re thinking of cancelling. For policy cancellations or to discuss your situation further, please call us on 13 22 44. If you do cancel, you may qualify for a refund for the unexpired portion of your premium, less our cancellation fee and any non-refundable government charges (if applicable).
How do I retrieve my quote?
If you’ve paid for your renewal in full, your policy isn’t due for renewal, and you haven’t made any changes to your policy since its starting date, you should be able to request a new copy through your online AAMI account.
After you log in, you’ll see a list of your policies under ‘Your Insured Policies’. Select the one you want your renewal details for, click on ‘Get documents’, and there should be an option for a paid renewal document.
You have the freedom to select which email address you want your document to go to; it will default to the email address we have on file for you, but you can easily change it.
Where can I find my PDS?
Your PDS (Product Disclosure Statement) provides all the nitty gritty details of your insurance policy. It’s important that you read through it if you’re considering taking out an AAMI insurance policy, or if you’re an existing policy holder and want to get more information.
