What's covered

If you clean domestic properties – like people’s homes or apartments – or run a business that employs domestic cleaners, AAMI Small Business Insurance can offer cover for common risks for your business:

  • Public & Products Liability (injury) – for example, a customer slips on water left on the floor and is injured.
  • Public & Products Liability (damage) – for example, you spill a cleaning agent, damaging a customer’s bench top or floor.
  • Theft – (covered under Portable & Valuable Items) – for example, your new vacuum cleaner is stolen from your locked business vehicle.
  • Portable and Valuable Items – for example, you accidentally drop your mobile phone and damage it.
  • Tax Probe – for example, your business’s payroll tax is audited and you need to pay your accountant’s fees.
  • Commercial Motor – for example, your business vehicle is damaged in a fire.

What’s not covered

  • Wear and tear – for example, your microfibre mop wears out over time and needs to be replaced.
  • Unlocked vehicle – or example, you left your vehicle unlocked and someone steals your steam mop.
  • Loss of income – for example, if your car is in for repairs after an accident, you may lose income if you can't use it for your business.
  • Workers Compensation – for example, your employee is injured while cleaning a client’s home. This would typically be covered under Workers Compensation Insurance.
