Make Mum breakfast this weekend

By  AAMI

Mums are special people. For most mums, their lives revolve around their families. From work to home and everything in between, mums are always putting other people first. This year, make Mother’s Day a day not only to show how much you care, but how much everything she does means to you.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a whiz in the kitchen or just a beginner – when it comes to mums, it’s the effort that counts. We’ve put together five simple, yet delicious ideas to help you start mums day off on the right foot.

1) French toast with berries

Simple yet decadent, French toast is always a winner. Dip some sliced bread in whisked egg and panfry it until it’s golden in colour. Top with fresh berries and a drizzle of maple syrup.

2) Avocado on toast

You’ll find smashed avocado on toast in every cool café in town. Treat mum to her own café-style meal by slicing some fresh avocado onto a slice of dark, wholesome bread (smash it if you like!). Sprinkle with pepper, salt, lemon or chilli flakes.

3) Bacon and eggs

Keep it classic for Mum with a traditional fry up of bacon and eggs on toast.  Served with a cup of tea, you can’t go wrong!

4) Muesli, yoghurt and fruit

Start Mum’s day off on the right foot with a healthy and delicious bowl of muesli and yoghurt. Top it off with some fresh berries or whatever fruit you have on hand.

5) Croissants

If cooking isn’t your thing, you can still treat mum to a delicious breakfast with a trip to the market or local bakery. Pick up a few freshly baked croissants and serve them with butter, jam and cup of coffee for the ideal way to make Mum’s morning special.
