If you run out of fuel, we can arrange for the free delivery of enough fuel to get you to the nearest petrol station, up to a maximum of $10.

We’ll help jump start a flat battery or arrange a replacement (if required). Please note that arranging a replacement battery is subject to availability, and the battery’s cost isn’t covered.

We will pay up to $250 to help arrange for a spare key to be delivered or arrange to gain access to your car, subject to limits in the Roadside Assist Terms and Conditions.

We’ll help change a flat with your car’s serviceable spare, or transport your car to an approved tyre outlet or nearest safe place (see Help with towing your car).

Help with towing your car
If your car can't be fixed by the roadside, we’ll help tow it to the nearest accredited repairer, up to 100km. Extra towing costs are your responsibility and may be paid at service.

Towing that requires a specialist provider
If your car is modified, large or heavy to the point it needs a heavy haulage or specialist tower, we won’t be able to provide service.

Cover for damage due to inappropriate or lack of maintenance
If the breakdown is due to a failure to use reasonable care, like intentionally running out of fuel or electric vehicle charge, or due to a lack of maintenance, like not replacing a failing battery, it isn’t covered.

Service for extreme isolation
If you’re in an inaccessible location or there are inadequate resources in the area where your car has broken down (eg no tow trucks), we aren’t able to provide service.

We’ll be on hand to help, but not within 24 hours of you purchasing or adding AAMI Roadside Assist to your AAMI Comprehensive Car Insurance policy.

Cover for unregistered or unroadworthy vehicles

We don’t cover cars that are unregistered, or not in a roadworthy or well-maintained condition where the condition of the car is the reason for the callout.
