Hail always seems to fall on a day you least expect it.
So if you've accidentally left your car outside during a hail storm, let's walk you through how to make a claim on your AAMI comprehensive car insurance in the event that your vehicle is damaged.
Firstly, lodge your claim with AAMI.
After you have lodged your claim, we will refer you to one of our hail specialists.
They will contact you to arrange a time and location for assessment and repairs.
Fortunately, our hail specialists use a technique called paintless dent removal or PDR.
This means they can usually repair your car without having to repaint your car or replace panels.
Assessors consider a variety of factors, like how much it would
cost to repair the damage and how extensive the damage is,
and then work out if it's worth repairing your vehicle.
You'll be notified what the outcome is, as soon as possible.
Then we'll either arrange for your car to be repaired or settle your claim as a total loss.
Often when it hails, it can affect many people.
As you can imagine, (bubbles bursting) when many cars are damaged, it means lots of claims are lodged at the same time.
