CTP Insurance

Compulsory Third Party (CTP) Insurance is required by all drivers to register their vehicles in NSW & the ACT.

What is CTP?

Compulsory Third Party (CTP) is insurance attached to the registration of your vehicle, which provides protection, against compensation claims from people injured in a motor vehicle accident. 

NSW
CTP GREEN SLIP INSURANCE

In NSW, Compulsory Third Party (CTP) Personal Injury Insurance, also known as a 'Green Slip' is regulated by the State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA).

CTP is mandatory in NSW and must be purchased before you can register your vehicle. It is purchased separately to your vehicle registration.

ACT
CTP INSURANCE

In the ACT your preferred CTP insurer is nominated on your registration form when you register your vehicle.

CTP forms part of your total registration payment to Access Canberra. Simply select AAMI on your Rego papers.

What's Covered?

  • CTP covers your liability and the liability of anyone else who drives your vehicle, for injuries caused to others in a motor accident
  • NSW CTP also provides you with access to medical expenses and weekly payments for lost income, for up to six months if you're injured and you're at fault. More about NSW CTP claims

  • CTP does not cover damage to your vehicle, other vehicles or property.
