CTP Insurance

Compulsory Third Party (CTP) Insurance is required by all drivers to register their vehicles in NSW & the ACT.

What is CTP?

Compulsory Third Party (CTP) is insurance attached to the registration of your vehicle, which provides protection to the at fault driver, against compensation claims from people injured in a motor vehicle accident.

In NSW, CTP is insurance known as a 'Green Slip' and is regulated by the State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA).

Green Slip Insurance in NSW is purchased separately to your vehicle registration.

In the ACT your preferred CTP insurer is nominated on your registration form when you register your vehicle.

CTP forms part of your total registration payment to Access Canberra. Simply select AAMI on your Rego papers.

What's Covered?

  • Your CTP insurance covers you for injuries you cause to other people in a Motor Vehicle accident.
  • Injuries to road users including other drivers, passengers, pedestrians, cyclists, motorbike riders and pillion passengers.

  • CTP does not cover damage to your vehicle, other vehicles or property.
