What is CTP?

CTP is insurance attached to the registration of your vehicle, which provides protection to the at fault driver, against compensation claims from people injured in a motor vehicle accident. In ACT, CTP is purchased when you register your car and is included in your total registration fee paid to Access Canberra.

  • Your CTP insurance covers you for injuries you cause to other people in a Motor Vehicle accident

  • Injuries to road users

    Including other drivers, passengers, pedestrians, cyclists, motorbike riders and pillion passengers

  • CTP provides limited cover for injuries sustained by the driver who causes a motor accident
