If you’re a landlord and you take out combined building and contents cover, your investment property—as well as the contents inside it—will be covered following an insured event. A combined policy provides broader coverage than either building or contents insurance alone.

The amount you choose to insure your home for, which is the maximum we'll pay to repair or rebuild it in the event of an incident.

It's important that the amount accurately reflects the replacement value of your home building. We recommend seeking the services of an architect, builder or other qualified professional for an accurate estimate. There are also numerous free calculators on Australian websites to help you work it out.

Imagine you had the power to pick up your house and turn it upside down. All the household items that fall out are considered 'contents' (except for some things like cars and pets) and can be covered by AAMI Home Contents Insurance.
