Floating wooden floors

COVERED

Here is more information about the cover for floating wooden floors under AAMI Home Building Insurance.

What's covered

We cover floating wooden floors as part of the building at the insured address. Floating wooden floors are the kind of flooring that isn’t nailed, glued, or permanently fixed to a subfloor or surface. Like a click-system floor.

What’s not covered

There are some instances where you will not be covered. Such as, we do not cover any part of the building that is not in good condition, or that has wear, tear or deterioration, and we do not cover some losses where building extensions, alterations or renovations are not complete.

In addition, we do not cover floating wooden floors in a unit under our home building policy. Please note, coverage may be available for the floating wooden floors under a Contents Insurance policy as fittings in a unit if they are not legally part of the unit building. This is influenced by what you may or may not be covered for under your Strata Building, and what is covered as part of a unit building under Strata will vary according to the relevant State or Territory laws. Consider sourcing a copy of your Strata Building Insurance from your Body Corporate. You can learn more about the coverage for floating wooden floors and other exclusions in the Product Disclosure Statement.
