CONTENT ITEMS
Matching undamaged parts (contents)
COVERED
Finding a perfect match can be challenging, time-consuming, and costly, so it’s nice to know if there are certain instances where it might be covered under AAMI’s Home Contents Insurance cover.
What’s covered
If we cannot find new materials to match undamaged parts, we will pay the extra costs to repair or replace certain undamaged parts to achieve a uniform appearance where a claim for loss or damage to the contents is covered.
We will only pay these extra costs in limited circumstances. That is, we'll replace undamaged blinds and curtains in the same room, stairs, hallway or passageway* where damage occurred to achieve a uniform appearance, or we will pay extra so that continuously joined undamaged and matching carpets and other floor coverings (that are covered as a contents item) in the same room, stairs, hallway or passageway* where the damage occurred will have a uniform appearance. This does not mean that we will always replace the undamaged carpets and flooring. Sometimes a repair may be possible.
*See the PDS for ‘What we mean by same room, stairs, hallway or passageway’
What’s not covered
There are some instances where you will not receive coverage, such as if no insured event has taken place. You can learn more about this coverage and other exclusions in the Product Disclosure Statement.
