Willaston Football Club, South Australia

Willaston Football Club is a well established local football club in the heart of Willaston on the Wirral. The club has an inclusive approach to football and caters to football players of all ages, gender and abilities. The club has pledged to use the Clangers for Good funding for equipping its female teams with tailored uniforms that are designed to suit and fit female players. The club is committed to ensuring female players feel comfortable in their playing kit and understand it is critical for keeping girls engaged with the sport. Many female players at the club are teenagers and are at that vulnerable age where they are likely to drop out of playing sport altogether if they do not feel comfortable in what they are playing in.

2023 AFLW Clangers for Good

Congratulations to the following clubs who are our 2023 winners

Anglesea Football Club, Victoria

Anglesea Football Club is an AFL and Netball Club situated in Anglesea near the city of Geelong. The club has been successful in securing funding which will be invested in equipment and training and skills development programs for female players. The Club will also provide scholarships and subsidies for female players to ensure that financial constraints do not hinder participation and enable more girls to play the game.

Kiama Power Junior AFL Club, NSW

Situated on the south coast of NSW, the Kiama Power Junior AFL Club have been successful in securing a Clangers for Good donation to help improve the mental health and wellbeing of their female players. The club will be invest in team building activities that will help to foster a sense of community and belonging at the club for the players that help them to grow individually and as a player.

Cronulla Sharks Junior Football Club, NSW

Cronulla Sharks Football Club has seen unprecedented growth in its female program over the past 12 months, as a result of a range of dedicated development initiatives. This growth in female participation has put pressure on club facilities and equipment, requiring the club to invest in additional services and equipment to cater to the uptake in players. The AAMI Clangers for Good donation will go towards improving female change rooms and funding uniforms specifically tailored for females. In addition the club will invest in Auskick coaching support to enable players to give back to the game and club.

SMOSH West Lakes Women Football Club, South Australia

Established in 2019, the SMOSH West Lakes Football Club prides itself on providing a community based, family orientated environment for female players to grow and develop. The club works to support and foster talent amongst their junior and senior players, with an aim to develop players into SANFL, Coaching and many other supporting roles. The AAMI Clangers for Good funding will support the club in helping to fund the retention of Under 18's talent and encourage their promotion to the senior teams, as well as funding new guernseys and training equipment for the women’s program.
